LAYER THAT COVERS THE INNER SURFACE OF YOUR BLOOD VESSELS.

Made primarily of complex sugars and proteins, the glycocalyx creates an important

interface between your circulating blood and the endothelial cells that form your blood-vessel walls.

A healthy glycocalyx helps regulate blood flow and vascular tone, supports normal barrier function,

and helps control interactions between blood cells and the vessel wall.

Although microscopic, the glycocalyx plays an important role in the health of your entire vascular system.
